Sensei´s Profile

Sensei Luis Victoria (Head Instructor & Owner):

My passion

Martial arts is so ingrained into my life, that I can't imagine my life without it. More importantly, I can't imagine my life without the gift of bringing martial arts to our community. It's why I get up in the morning with so much enthusiasm, and why I work as hard as I can to make my martial arts school an amazing experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

Academic achievements

I am Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law, and also a Colombian, South America attorney. I practiced law in Colombia in the private sector for five years, counseling small and medium-sized enterprises. I am interested in several areas of law, but have focused my work in immigration, real estate, and commercial law. I would like to focus on the development of the economy and the ability to generate business internationally, especially with Latin America.

Karate for life

I moved to Florida in 2009, overcoming the barrier of the English language by completing the ESOL program at Miami Dade College and now Law School. I also owned and managed a Karate Studio in Colombia and then re-opened the studio in Florida. I have been practiced martial arts for more than thirty years, I started practicing martial arts at the age of 10 and now I teach Karate Do to Miami’s community.

In 2001, I represented Colombia in the Karate Do World Championships in Atlanta, Georgia, where I earned two gold medals for the first time for Colombia. I am also a proud husband and father to my daughter, and they are the best motivation to continue pursuing my goals.

Entire families train with us here. Kids train with kids. Adults train with adults. Lots of our members live within walking distance of each other, and many are friends outside of our classes. The result: a close, family-like sense of community here. And the moment you join our classes, you'll feel right at home with this community.

Students who have been training for a while help out the beginners. Exercises often require partners, and students take advantage of this to encourage and cheer each other on.

No one is competing with anyone else here. No one is trying to “show off” or “out do” the next guy. Everyone just wants to learn and grow and help each other out.

Please!, read it over, and give us a call when you're done to get started now. I can't wait for martial arts to become a part of your life, too.
